Tom Wilson Memorial Fund Supports Fulton County Youth Swine Show
The Tom Wilson Memorial Fund, a fund of the Fulton County Community Foundation, recently awarded a $2,500 grant to the Fulton County Pork Producers Association to support their annual youth swine show, the Fulton County 500. Held on Memorial Day at the Fulton County Fairgrounds, this year’s event was the largest yet, with 350 pigs shown and 106 youth participating in showmanship. Akron, Ind. – The Fulton County Community Foundation has awarded a $1,200 grant to Akron Las Donas to help fund their popular Friday Night Live Music in the Park series. Founded in 1957, the Akron Las Donas Club is a ladies’ civic club dedicated to promoting and supporting the Akron community. Akron, Indiana – The Fulton County Community Foundation, a fund affiliate of the Northern Indiana Community Foundation (NICF), has awarded a $20,000 grant to the Akron Youth League (AYL) to support the replacement of field lighting at the Boys Diamond in Akron. The original lighting system, installed in 1974, had become outdated and inadequate for safe play. The funding will be used to purchase class sets of four iconic Agatha Christie novels: And Then There Were None, Death on the Nile, Murder on the Orient Express, and The ABC Murders.
